Keith Johnson
Keith began working in oil and gas exploration in 1978. Before joining Wolverine Gas and Oil Corporation in 1994 as Manager of Geophysics, Keith was Manager of Geophysics for Telesis Petroleums (1991-1994), Vice President of Geophysical Services for Hosking Geophysical (1981-1991), Seismic Analyst for Seismograph Service Corp (1978-1981) and part-time Adjunct Geophysics Instructor at Central Michigan University (1998-2008). Keith’s exploration experience has been primarily concentrated in the Michigan Basin, the Sevier Thrust Belt of Utah, several Rocky Mountain Basins with some work exposure to most of the sedimentary basins in the U.S. along with basins in Australia. Keith has extensive seismic interpretation experience, primarily in conventional plays with emphasis on structural traps, reefs, and fracture controlled porosity traps. He is an expert in seismic survey acquisition parameter design and seismic data processing and proficient in all aspects of gravity and magnetic acquisition, processing and interpretation.
He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (1990-1995), elected District 5 Representative, Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) (1994-1997) and served on the Wright State University Geological Sciences Academic Board of Counselors (1898-1992). In 2007, Keith was awarded Honorable Mention for the Best Paper in the SEG’s The Leading Edge.
Keith holds a M.S. in Geophysics from Western Michigan University, was enrolled in the Graduate School of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma, and holds a B.A. in Geology from Winona State University.
